Staff

Our staff are all like one big family. Most of our staff have worked for J Star on a long term basis, and most of our assistants are ex J Star students who want to train in time to be J Star teachers.

Jaynie (Managing Director) feels that by having Performing Arts tutors who are currently working in the industry, as well as at J Star, your children are likely to learn more. Although this may mean your children may not have the same teacher for years on the run, it will mean that we are ensuring your children are taught by the best of the best, industry professionals and that their teachers are always growing in knowledge to pass on to your children

Jaynie Powsney (Managing Director)

Jaynie has over 20 years of experience working with, and teaching young children ranging from ages 0 - adults. Her passion for her students is obvious and she is always looking for ways to inspire and encourage them with fresh ideas, interesting lesson plans and exciting opportunities.

Helen (Office Manager)

Helen (Jaynie's mum!), has worked for J Star since we opened and has been a valuable member of our team. Helen deals with everything admin, from answering emails and enquiries to account management.

Megan (Teacher)

Megan (Meg) has been a part of the J Star family for 6 years now. She is a much loved member of our team, and it's clear how much love and respect her students have for her.

Jade (Teacher)

Stage School and Holiday Clubs

Jade is our fabulous Stage School teacher and Holiday Club leader. Her enthusiasm is contagious, and her love for her students is obvious. We are so proud to have Jade teaching for us and inspiring your children.

Maria (Teacher)

Maria is a past J Star pupil and has enjoyed her classes with us so much that she has trained to become a teacher here! She is always bringing in new teaching techniques to make lessons exciting and interesting for our students, and her classes are high energy and enjoyable.

Tom (Teacher)

Tom is our bubbly, passionate and enthusiastic teacher and holiday club leader. He can't wait to meet and inspire you with his knowledge and skills!

Thea (Teacher)

Thea is our Casting Agent of the FTA (Our Film & Television Academy). She also is a teacher at J Star and leads our Holiday Clubs.

Charlie (Teacher)

Charlie teaches for us and runs our holiday clubs! The children adore her because she is bubbly. friendly, enthusiastic and a big child at heart!

Emma (Teacher)

Emma is our British Gymnastics qualified teacher. She is full of energy and enthusiasm, and passion for our J Stars.

Ruby (Teaching assistant)

Ruby loved her 7 years as a J Star student so much with us that she now assists in our classes, and what a wonderful job she does!

Luke (Teaching Assistant)

Luke has taken part in J Star classes since he was 1 year old. He's so passionate about J Star that he's now a helper in our younger classes!

Ruby (Teaching assistant)

Ruby took part in J Star classes growing up and enjoyed her time so much that she wanted to further her time with us and work here!
