BECKY - Teaching Assistant Becky joined us in September 2011. She has studied Performing Arts GCSE and A Level and now hopes to help encourage our J Stars to develop their confidence, performance skills and talents!

MEET THE STAFF Jaynie Powsney - Managing Director J Star Academy of Performing Arts was set up and developed with your child’s needs in mind. Jaynie Powsney has had vast experience working with, and teaching young children ranging from ages 0 - teens. She herself attended various Performing Arts schools since the early age of 4 and went on to study for a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts at Bury College gaining distinctions. She then went on to gain further distinctions after studying for an HND in Media Performance at Salford University. Jaynie has performed in shows at venues that include The Met Theatre - Bury, The Royal Exchange Theatre – Manchester, and the Palace Theatre – Manchester. Always putting her pupils first, she is continuously striving for the best for them and will guarantee your child receives the one to one attention they deserve.
Street Dance, HipHop, Zumba, Musical Theatre After gaining Distinctions at Bury College, Lisa trained for 3 years at The Merseyside Dance and Drama Centre in Liverpool, where she studied ballet, tap, modern, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, street dance, ballroom and latin and also has experience in disco dancing. Lisa has played the part of Magenta in the Rocky Horror Show and has also performed in various dance shows. Previous entertainment roles include 2 years experience on the entertainment team for Warner Leisure Hotels and also performing as a professional dancer in hotels across Cyprus for 7 months in 2010. Lisa hopes she can use her dance skills to teach the pupils of J Star coordination skills, develop their concentration and boost their confidence through movement. JESS - Receptionist/Teaching Assistant 
Jess! She is a drama student herself and has enjoyed passing her newfound knowlege onto us! She also plays some really cool improvisation games with us!
Helen has worked for J Star since we opened and has been a valuable member of staff. Helen deals with everything admin - from ticket enquiries to Summer School bookings. She is also there for one to one help if any of the pupil’s require assistance with their line learning/characterisation skills and also for support and boosting the confidence of the quieter children.
