About Us

J Star Juniors

J Star Academy of Performing Arts
aims to provide it’s pupils with a fun, energetic and friendly approach to learning the life-long skill of dramatic arts. We believe in training your children in self-belief, self-confidence, and self assurance that they will be guaranteed a fabulous high level of social skills, which will in turn, prepare them for their next step in life – be it junior school or high school.

As a Performing Arts School based in the Manchester area, J Star Academy of Performing Arts takes pride in making sure the young people in our local area have a fun, enjoyable activity to look forward to on a weekly basis.

J Star Singing Lessons

starLearn to sing in the comfort of your own home, no matter what your age. You will learn to control your tuning and manage your breathing when singing. You will only learn songs that you are comfortable with and that you have chosen, enabling you to enhance your confidence and discover your vocal abilities.


Jaynie Powsney (Company Director), is LAMDA trained up to silver medal in both Acting and Verse and Prose, and aims to spend one to one time with each of her pupils in order to concentrate on their public speaking skills and any speech issues a parent/guardian feels their child may have.

In order for each child to receive individual attention, we can only take on 15 children in any one class. We have a waiting list should our classes be fully booked and are currently looking to extend our class timetable for the benefit of those on our waiting list.
